Tahoe for the day

My mom and I decided to go to Tahoe for the day.
We were the only ones that worked on the house and we worked really head the past two weeks. We have not had a day off. So because the house is now done we decided to go to reward our selves by spending a day in Tahoe shopping.
When we got there we stopped at a couple stores then went to our favorite place to eat, Applebees. After eating we stopped at a place were they were selling some really beautiful nature pictures. I bought 3 pictures for $20. They are of Tahoe as the sun is setting. They all have a really pretty purple color in all of them. I love them and in the future I want to buy one of them again but bigger, because it is so beautiful.
After that we went to a movie. We saw Ghost of Girl Friends Past. I loved it, it was really cute and funny. Then we walked around a couple more shops.
This summer my family and I are spending 4 days in Tahoe during the 4th of July. We are really looking forward to it because we have not gone on vacation in over 3 years. It should be fun because we will get to see some amazing fireworks and get to hangout as a family which we never get to do. The only thing I am worried about is that I am taking a class this summer and I hope I can skip one or two days so that I can be with my family.
My mom and I had a great time and I cannot wait tell this summer for our family vacation.

The House is done

Saturday my family had an Open House/Graduation Party for my sister that graduated from college. That house had to be completed from the remodel asap. So for the past two weeks my mom and I have been painting, moving around furniture, painting, planting flowers, painting, oh and did I say painting.
By the time Saturday came we were so tired. The house was not completely done but we hid it very well. The house looked so good. All our heard work paid off. Everyone loved it and could not believe how good it looked.
The only things that are left to be done are hanging pictures on the walls, and stuff like that.
The only thing that was bad was that my sister lives in Redding so she had no idea how much work we had to get done before her party. She was so ungrateful. She treated me like crap the whole day in front of all our family and friends. It was so rude and embarrassing. Next time she wants to have a party at the house I am not helping.
But the party was a success. I think 40 people came. And our out of town family came which was great because they never come and visit.
It feels good to have the house put back together again.

Horrible News

On Saturday I got some really bad news. I have two friends that are sister. I have known for 10 years. We know each other’s family very well. We use to spend almost every day together. And we do not hangout as much now but we still keep in touch and help each other when they need it.
Their parents are divorced; their mother lives in town here and there dad lives in San Diego. I have met their dad twice and the first time I net him he creped me out, and I did not know why.
A couple years ago their dad was accused of groping four women. He went to jail for a year.
So recently there has been a man in the San Diego and San Francisco area that has been attacking women. The man would sit on the side of the highway and pretend something was wrong with his car and he would try to get women driving alone to pull over to help him. Or he would flash his lights at women alone in their cars to try and get them to put over by telling them there was something wrong with their car. When the women were getting back into their cars he would attack them.
My friend’s dad has been accused because they found DNA evidence that he did this to the women. Many other women that had this happen to them managed to get away. In many police line ups and photographs he was positively identified.
I was so shocked and still am. One of the sisters has said that all the news and newspapers are not telling the truth about everything. This is hard to believe because every news report and newspaper has said the same things.
I wish they did not have to go through all of this again, and this time it is even worse. I wish I could do something to help my friends and make this all go away but I cannot. And I cannot even begin to imagine the pain they are going through.
Please keep them in your thoughts and prayers.

Weekend in Redding

So my sister Alysha graduated from college on over the weekend. So my brother, his girlfriend, dad, mom, grandma, grandpa, and I went up to Redding for her graduation ceremony.
We left Friday morning. My brother and his girlfriend went in my parent’s car and my mom dad and I drive in my car with the three dogs.
My car is much smaller than my parent’s car and it has no air conditioner so it was a long 3 and ½ hour drive. My parents did not want my brother to drive my car because he drives all the cars really heard so we did’t want him to brake my fragile car when theirs is much stronger than mine.
All week my family and I were worried that I would not get to watch the graduation in person. There was a chance of rain and if it did rain I would not get to see her because she only had 6 tickets for the ceremony and I would not get one because she would give it to her old bible study teacher and one of her friends. I was not happy when she told me this. Luckily on Saturday there was not a cloud in the sky. It was so nice out only about 75 degrees.
On Friday and Saturday night we went to the Sundial Bridge. It is the only thing in Redding worth seeing. It is all lit up at night and you can walk all around it under it and there are really nice trains next to it. My family and I took some really cute pics there and the dogs loved it. I thing the dogs had more fun than we did.
The whole weekend was fun because it was a little vacation. My family and I have not been on a vacation in three years.

Kicked Out

This week I was kicked out of my house. No, I did not get in trouble or anything like that.
It was because of the remodel. Our wood floors were being stained. So I could not go in my room or the bathroom. My brother and I had to stay at our friend house while my parents slept in the moder home with the three dogs.
I stayed at my friend Adreanna’s house. It was fun because there were two other girls staying with her too. It was really fun because we all went to Jr high and high school together. It was great to be able to catch up.
I thought I was only going to have to be there for two nights and it turned out that I had to stay there Monday to Friday. When I got home on Friday I still could not walk on the floor so I had to go through the back year and clime over the wood pile and then climb into my bedroom window to get clothes. That night I had to sleep in the moder home with the dogs because my parents went out of town.
And to make things even more annoying, late on Friday night while I was climbing over the wood pile to get the dogs I had to hold on to the water heater to I would not fall. As I was taking my hand off of the water heat something sharp but my hand open. When I got back to the moder home and looked at my hand in the light it was cut really deep and bleeding.
The remodel is a hassle and causes a lot of problems but hopefully all of this will be worth it in the end.

Tattoo

So I almost got a tattoo the other day. This is a big step for me, because well I hate needles and I cannot make a big commitment like this. But now I am so excited to get one.
My brother got a tattoo and he paid for two hours and his only took an hour so we thought she would let me get one too. It would have been free for me. But she had to stay open after losing so I could not get mine
I had one pretty much picked out before I got there and then I was looking threw a book and found an even better one. It is a really pretty cross made of vines and with leaves on the line and in the middle the cross I want to put a lily flower. It may sound girly but I am a girl and it is so cute.
It is going to cost me 80 dollars so I think I am going to wait a little while. I just do not think I can pay that much right now on something so small. But I really like it and no one will expect me to get it so I am not telling most of my friends so I can surprise them.

Update.

So I have not had anything interesting happen at all this week, so I am just going to give you an update on some things.
My cat Aslan is still missing. The signs I put up around the neighborhood are still up. But no one has called. My friends mom recently had a family cat die and so she I trying to keep my spirits up. It’s not helping much. With every passing day it becomes more and more of a reality that she is never going to come home. And that means something very bad has happened to her.
Now on a lighter note, the remodel is going well. The kitchen only needs the new sink put in, then it will be fully done and functional. We have not had a stove or sink for about 2 weeks so its been oatmeal at toast for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. We are all sick of it. The new floors counters and back splash look amazing. The kitchen looks so much bigger than before. I love it.
Next we start on the wood floors. That is going to be an even more difficult process. I think we will have to move out for a couple days. The wood is going down the hall to the bed rooms so the only place we will be able to walk is in the kitchen and the dining room.
The end result will be amazing so I am not going to put pics up until it is all done. It will look so good. So stay tuned.

Lost Cat

So my cat, Aslan is missing. My brother got Aslan and her sister Toby(I know that's a boy name but my brother named her) from Oregon 7 years ago. We have had then all their life. They came home to live with us as soon as they could leave their mother.
Aslan has been missing for a little over a week now. This is not a normal thing for her to do. She is an indoor outdoor cat and so she comes inside to eat and sleep. And she never leaves our property. She will not go in the road because when my dog Otis was hit by a car a couple years ago she saw the whole thing happen. From that day on she would never leave the property or even come close to the road.
Aslan is a watch cat. She keeps all wild animals and even dogs and other cats away from our house. Many times she has fought raccoons 3 times her size because they had moved in under our porch. She always won the fights. We named her Aslan because Aslan is the lion from The Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe, she reminds us off a lion protecting its family. She is the strongest and toughest cat I know.
She is also they most beautiful cat I have ever seen. Her fur is all white and she has one blue eye and one yellow eye. I like her blue eye the best. She keeps herself very clean in the winter and in the summer she likes to role in the sun on the grass so sometimes she gets a little dirty. But she does not like to be so she cleans her fur a lot. So many of my friends have said she is very beautiful.
So because she is such a strong and tough cat I do not think that any other animal got her because she can hold her own in any fight.
There has been a couple nights when I could not sleep because horrible thoughts would play in my mind of what could have happened to her. So it hurts me to think of her in any pain.
I have gone to the animal shelter and filled out a lost cat form and I have made posters and put them up all around my neighborhood. No calls yet. I really want someone to call even if they know that something bad has happened to her. I cannot get enough sleep at night so I just want to know what happened to her, no matter what they tell me.

Remodel

So my family is remodeling our house. We are putting in big tiles through our entry way, kitchen, and dining room. Then down the hall and in the living room we are putting in wood floors. And in the kitchen new counters, and back splash will be put in. All the walls are getting new paint and the brick under the wood burning stove is being pulled out.
This whole transformation is a big change for my family. We have never had the chance to do anything besides paint our house. My uncle is doing all of the construction and my dad and brother are helping him when he needs it.
The house is a mess right now. Everything from the kitchen and dining room are in the living room. That means the frig, stove, dish washer and dining room table. And the old carpet and tile is gone. The air is full of dust and the furniture had dist all over it. We cannot walk around the house without shoes because of nails and splinters. Our three cats are so angry, because of all the dust, noise, and they always get mad when we move the furniture around. They are staying out side all the time now. Our three dogs are fine with what is going on because they have a big space to run on the empty floor.
I cannot wait to see how the house will look when it is finished. My uncle said the house should be finished in two weeks. We will have to wait and see if that is true.
I am so excited!

New Car

My sister got a new car. It is a KIA Spectra and it is so cute. I hate her!
She decided to get a new car because her Subaru kept having little problems. She has put a lot of money into it so she can get to school and work. This last time she fixed it, it cost her around $500. And it did not even completely fix the problem.
I inherited her Subaru. So when I got the car I thought it was fixed. My mother was supposed to tell me that there are still some problems. One thing I already knew about is that to get the car out of park I had to poke a stick into a whole next to the shifter and push down a button. It is so annoying. Sometimes it will work without doing that, but never when I really need it too. That’s all I knew that was wrong with it.
After the tired day of driving it I went to the movies with a friend. When I tried to turn on the car it just made a clicking sound. The batteries had died. I called my sister to asked her why that happened, she said sometimes the battery gets drained from something that is wrong with the started. So my brother had to give me a jump.
Later that day I realized that the brake lights would not turn on. It turns out that that happens a lot. So every time I get out of the car I have to check and make sure that the brake lights are not on. It they are I have to go under the brake pedal and move the wire around until they turn off. I hate it!
That’s not the only thing that is wrong with it, but I won’t bore you anymore. I just want to say that I wish, for once, I had a car that had nothing wrong with it.

A Day in Sac Francisco

This weekend was my first time in Sac Francisco. My friends Jenae, Laikien, Angela, and I decided to go for the day on Saturday. I was very excited because I had only been there a couple times and it was for concerts so I never saw the city.
We went to Peer 39 and all along the water around there. We were going to walk across the Golden Gate Bridge but we did not have the time because we got lost. Well Jenae got us lost. She had the map and she had been there before, so she thought she knew where to go. It was time for us to get some lunch Jenae decided to follow the crowds of people because “they were headed somewhere that would probably have a nice place to eat”. Bad idea! We all went down a side road and after 10 blocks Jenae came to the conclusion that there were no places to eat. So we looked at the map and made our way back to the peer. I cannot tell you how many roads we turn down trying to get back to the peer. That little detour had to be at least a two mile walk in the wrong direction. To make things worse for me I had on really old warn out shoes that made my feet go numb after the first mile of walking.
As we made our way back to the car we stopped at a couple of really pretty gardens and took pictures. One the way Laikien remembered a place to eat that was close to the car. In fact when we got there it was probably 100 feet from the car. It was called the Rainforest Café. It was really like the rainforest. It was even humid where we eat.
So we did not have time to go to the Golden Gate Bridge, but we did have a really good workout. I think we walked 4 ½ miles it just a couple hours.
The next day my feet hurt so bad. I was in Sac all of Sunday so I stopped and bought two new pairs of shoes and threw way the old ones. The good thing about this whole experience is that the new shoes I got were buy one get one ½ off!

Cell Phones While Driving

I was one of those people that did not agree with the law that you can’t be on the phone while driving. But after an incident yesterday I decided it’s a good law.
My sister and I were in Sacramento looking for a new car for my sister. We went to a couple places and did not find anything. We met up with my brother on the way to a used car lot. We were on interstate 80 and we were following my brother in a different car. My brother answered his phone and then looked in his blind spot to see if he could merge into the next lane. He started to merge when a red car appeared in his window. He did not see the car in his blind spot because his arm was in the way and he did not realize it. So he tried to go back into the lane he was in but he over corrected and then pulled the wheel back and he did a 180. The tires were smoking and my sister and I thought he was flipping. We could see his face while he was spinning and he was terrified. The second I realized he was not going to flip I thought a car behind him would hit him head on. I whipped around and all the cars were far enough back they had time to slow down.
It was terrifying!
My sister was driving and she started crying and she did not know what to do. So I had to talk to her and get her focused back on the road. And tell her not to turn around because he was fine and he was catching up to us.
He called us and said it was cool but scary and he was shaking. Later when I talked to him he did not even remember who called him when it happened.
The rest of the day my parents, sister, and I were so grateful that the week before we put new tires on the car. If not he would have gone straight into the wall. I have now decided, as well as my brother, that we would buy a Bluetooth. And stop talking in the phone while driving.

Three Bad Days!

I have had a really bad couple of days.
So lets start with Monday. I was late for my first class On the way home I had to meet my parents at a gas station because I have a tire with a slow leak(so I had to fill it up), I was out of gas( I barely made it), and my mom left something in my car that she needed. Later that night I ran up to the store to return some movies that where almost late. When I got back home I heard a strange noise coming from the leaking tire. When I got closer I realized that there was a nail in the tire. So now it was leaking even faster.
Tuesday: I woke up from the ring of a text message. My friend Kayla had to go to the hospital in the middle of the night because she had to get her gall bladder taken out. At a young age I had mine taken out and I knew how much pain she was in. So I really wanted to go see her and tell the things that I had to go through. But when I got up my mom was making me clean the house because my uncle was coming over because he is helping us remodeling our house. While I was cleaning I do not know how or what I did, but I either pulled a muscle in my stomach or I tore a muscle. I had to sit of the couch for the rest of the day with a heating pad on my stomach. I also had a paper due in my history class on Wednesday so I was reading and typing until I had to go to a class at 7 pm. I live in Pollock Pines so I had to drive all the way to Placerville. When I got there, there were only 5 people and a note on the wrong door saying the class was canceled. So I had to drive all the way back to Pollock Pines and refill my tire.
Now for today (Wednesday). I had to drive my mom to my uncle’s house in Placerville, on my way to school today. The snow was so deep this morning and we did not have time to get the snow off the drive way so we slide all over the place trying to get out. We finally left the house 20 min later than I had planed so that I could get to school on time. My mom was so scared we were going to crash that all the way down to Placerville she drove 35 miles per hour (on the freeway!). So I was late to class again. And that made me late to my next class because I did not have enough time to print my history paper. I went to lunch and rushed back to find out this class was canceled. Normally I check my email in the morning to see if any of my classes were canceled, but my internet has been out because of the storm from Sunday night. It is taking Comcast 3 days to fix every ones service. So now I am writing this blog and after this I am going to get a new tire on my car. I hope everything goes better for the rest of the day.

RIP Otis

The other day I was coming home from school. I was about a mile from my house when a couple cars in front of me 3 dogs ran into the road. My heart stopped. There was a big dog, a small dog and a puppy. The car put on its brakes but it was too late the little puppy got hit. I was so freaked out. It looked like the car ran over its head but it ran over its shoulder. The dog got up and started flailing around then it limped as it ran off.
As I saw the puppy stumble away I could not help but cry. This incident really his me hard. Three years ago I had a dog named Otis. He was a very important member of the family. My family and I had tought him a lot of really cool tricks. And he would always protect me when a friend came to the house.
On the fouth of July I was on the phone with a friend when my dad comes into the house and said that Otis got hurt. At the time I did not think anything of it. So I told my friend I had to go and I went out side. My mom had Otis in her arms and she was crying. Otis had gotten hit by a car but was still alive. I was totally shocked. My mom handed him to me and when to get the car so we could get him to a vet. The problem was it was a holiday the closest place that was open was 25 miles away. My mom, dad, grandma, and I jumped into the car and raced down the freeway.
Well to make and long story short and to not get into too many painful detailes, Otis died in my arms on the way to the animal hospital. The whole way back home all we could do was cry and no onw could say a word. When everyone was quiet you could feel the pain we were all going through.
So now whenever I see an animal in distress I think back to that horrible day and wish I could do something to prevent anyone from going through the pain I had to go through.

Starting Fall Semester

Starting fall semester was kind of crazy. Back in December when I was picking classes, it took me a couple days. I wanted all my classes on the same two to three days. Either Monday Wednesday and Friday or Tuesday and Thursday.
The one thing preventing me from going more days a week is that I have a very old car that could deside to stop working at any minutes. So I wanted to take only classes at the El Dorado Center and have as little days of driving as possible.
So when I signed up for classes I had them on Monday Wednesday and one class on Friday. It was not excited about Wednesday because I had a five hour art class at 5:30. I would have to be at school for fourteen hours. On my first day in the art class I realized the class was more for people that can draw and like to draw. And that is just not me. The other things they do in the class I already learned from being in 3D design and a housing and interior design class in high school.
The only way to change my classes was to take a Mat Pilates class on Tuesday and Thursday nights. I originally wanted to take this class but I was worried about my car. Now I do not have to worry about that because I am getting a car in a couple weeks. And a bonus is the car I am getting gets better gas mileage.
Even though I had such hard time figuring out my classes and I had some obstacles everything worked out for me.
